Hendrix Hits Guitar Hero, Two More World Tour Songs Announced
Posted by nestlekwik - Thu 07/24 2008 - 10:55 AM - 393 Views

In the back and forth feature battle between Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2, Activision and Neversoft are today announcing their newest exclusive feature - the likeness of guitar legend Jimi Hendrix as a playable character.

Few will argue Hendrix's influence on music and riding into Guitar Hero: World Tour comes with the announcements of the master tracks "Purple Haze (Live)" (recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena) and "The Wind Cries Mary" being available in the game. Additionally, Hendrix's music will jump aboard the DLC train, with yet to be named tracks from the artist to be made available in future downloadable content.

Rating: 1 Positive | 2 Negative

Is it just me or is it a little messed up including the likeness of a dead person as a playable character?

When I heard of this awile back I was just wondering how they where going to do the guitar battle. Well, big woop, you can play as Hendrix (not saying he is not the greatest guitarist ever), can't you just make a likeness to him in RB2? Well, they get Hendrix, but RB2 gets this......

IIRC Activision stuck GH decals on a Hendrix statue a while back for a concert tour or something. This doesn't surprise me.

I have no idea wether this is real or rumored, but the song choice seems likely (though some songs sicken me, others have me going OMG)

Somebody up to confirm this?

That song list is mostly amazing but in a lot of ways seems too good to be true. We'll just have to wait and see.

Edit: WTF at I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing.

Found on DDRUK.com at all? Currently it's a rumour. Posted up before this news here, and this news happens to co-incide with 2 of the tracks in the full songlist. Looking good as such :D
