Seeing as it's already around July 24 @ around 10:45am at the time of this posting, Konami's newest addition to the BEMANI franchise known as jubeat, pronounced "you-beat," is official off the ground and playable in Japanese arcade centers.

Also, Konami has opened the Official "Special Site" for jubeat here, where it gives a mostly indepth walkthrough on how the game operates and includes a flash demo of how to press the panels at the right time.
The game allows for both local one player mode, or an online battle play (e-Amuse service and pass required) in which you can wait for up to three other players and go head to head in a panel tapping frenzy. While you're concentrated on the 4x4 multi display buttons, the smaller upper display shows you how your opponents are playing as well as your progress through the song.
The game appears to rank your touches with PERFECT, いい感じ (GOOD), 早い(EARLY)/遅い (LATE), similar to how it works in DDR Mario Mix. The three difficulties you can play are BASIC, ADVANCED, and EXTREME, ala GuitarFreaks/DrumMania and are ranked on a scale of 1-10. At the end of your round you are ranked on a scale of E to SS (as with GF/DM) and are given a bonus depending on how well you play.
Also, if you are in Online Mode and happen to fail a song, yet there are other people still playing and passing the song, you can be SAVED and allowed to continue on to the next round.
Returning back to talks of the e-Amusement service, not only can you participate in Online Play, but you're also able to do the "standard" perks that come with e-Amuse, like tracking scores, online ranking, etc. You're also able to "CLASS UP" in which you participate in certain goals/trials and raise your jubeat ranking. This is just like the "MY GROOVE GUAGE" feature of DDR SuperNOVA 2, in which when you "CLASS UP" you unlock new songs, as well as new "markers" and other little customizations to tweak your jubeat experience.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information regarding song lists and any secrets that are held within the cubed game in the days and weeks to come!
Also keep in mind for all those who happen to be in Japan, the First Touch Campaign started today as of 10:30a Japan Daylight Time. :)
Scatman finally comes to Bemani, and it's in a game that I'll almost certainly never get to play. I really hope it ends up in DDR or IIDX.

Kiss Kiss? The hell? Lol.
I'd play jubeat just to see how that song turns out, hahaha.
Odd they put a popular American song in a game that may never be released in the US.

InPhase, you know they do play American rap/r&b music in Japan, and Japanese people do like those songs, right?
Hey, could someone please translate the title of that Do as Infinity song? Thanks!

Wow, the Hidden songs look neat seeing as Jimmy Weckl, kors k, & Kozo Nakamura are making them.

Minor thing, but you put "Icicles - Jimmy Weckl" when I think you meant "Jimmy Weckl - Icicles" , as that's how all the others are written. Unless there's a new band called Icicles who decided to make their first song a tribute to Jimmy Weckl, or something. :P
Looking at some of the EXT videos...it looks pretty solid in terms of gameplay. I didn't think much of it when the loctests dropped...but i must say i'm impressed.
Plus the songlist is very well rounded and overall...awesome.
FUCEN RIP SLYME FINALLY KONAMI
too bad it's a cover but IT'S A GOOD START

From the videos on YouTube, this looks like a really fun game. I hope they bring it to the US, but I can only presume that they'd bring it here with a different name!
