Chatting is a big but normally unmentioned part
of the online bemani community. Because of this we're offering 2 outlets
to get together with other bemani fans/bemanistyle users and "shoot
the shit" as some people would say.
The first of these is the official bemanistyle channel on our IRC
server. Connecting is easy:
- Download an IRC client (www.sysreset.com is a good place to get
one)
- Find the "select a server" option and enter the bemanistyle
server information.
- Connect.
Bemanistyle server info:
irc.bemanistyle.com
port: 6667
Official Channels:
#bemanistyle - This one should be obvious, official channel for the
website.
#forumboredom - The official channel for forumboredom regulars.
Tips:
- Register your nickname. (on the main IRC window type "/msg userserv register
[username] [password] [emailaddress]") This way
whenever you sign on, you can log in ("/msg userserv login [username]
[password]") and be guaranteed that no one else is
using your name. It also retains any special privelages you've received
in any channels.
- Talk, don't just idle or leech. We don't mind fserves on the channel,
but if you come in just to download stuff the ops
won't be very nice to you. And that's pretty much a guarantee.
- Don't be stupid. Alot of the IRC goers have been talking to eachother
for a while, so if you jump right in and stray from topics
or constantly ask "why isn't anyone talking" or go in like
"kekekekeke zomg!11one!!!" no one is going to give you any
respect.
- If you have an fserve, do not use advertisements. No one wants
to see them, and if someone is looking for a file they'll just !list
to see if they can find it.
The second of the two outlets is our channel on the popular soulseek
p2p program. If you have a soulseek account, keep an eye out for
the bemani channel. It's usually not too full, but we do have a fair
share of regulars there and alot of rare stuff can be found. There
aren't really any rules, but the following are things that we do appreciate
seeing:
- If you're going to download from anyone or idle in the channel,
make sure you're sharing your files. Most of the regulars
won't let you download from them unless you have things for download
as well.
- Follow the same rules as the ones for the IRC channels.
- Don't queue up more than 2 albums or 30 mp3s at a time from anyone.
This takes away from everyone using the service in one way or another,
so be considerate and patient when getting files.
Have fun, and above all else, be respectful of other users, and
listen to the operators.
